Latest Crazy Chester Activities

The last couple of months have been filled with listening to recordings for possible release on Crazy Chester Records. There's some great music out there waiting to be discovered! Songwriting activites included collaborations with Scott Boyer and Kelvin Holly in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Jon Tiven, Mark Narmore and Danish blues artist Mike Andersen in Nashville.

Charlie Taylor's new album that he recorded with Geoff Gillette and the legendary Dan Penn this summer is in the final stages of mixing and will be released sometime in the first half on 2014. Andreas Werner has been collaborating with Charlie on many different levels. The great Joe Funderburk is currently transferring a bunch of Charlie's old tapes to digital.

Buzz Cason had a bunch of hight profile appearances on radio and TV including the great Music City Roots. Buzz's new album "Troubadour Heart" will come out on Plowboy Records on February 4th. Events surrounding the release include a record release party at 3rd & Lindsley on January 30th (7:00PM) and an in-store performance at Grimey's in Nashville on February 1st (5:00PM).

Our friend Mac Gayden just released his autobiography "The Missing String Theory" about his career and the spiritual side of his life. It's a great read! Mac co-wrote "Everlasting Love" with Buzz along with songs for Clifford Curry ("She Shot A Hole In My Soul") and James & Bobby Purify ("Morning Glory"). He is also a great slide guitar player and played on sessions for Bob Dylan, JJ Cale ("Crazy Mama"), Kris Kristofferson and was a member of Area Code 615 and Barefoot Jerry.
